That message hit the nail on the head and tells me that it is a world wide problem. My wife was an educator for 33 years until she was forced to retire by the school because she was at the top of the scale for pay. Thank goodness she was there long enough to get full retirement benefits. She told me over and over that parents expect the school to teach their kids everything now a days, not just school subjects but manners, ethics, every day tasks....just about everything. Sad but true.

It's really no different here Dave, Annie is a grade K-3 teacher. Most of the parents are slackers. Only thing is, Annie cares deeply for these little people and loves teaching. She's been at it for some 25 years. They say the darndest things. Secrets from home never last, they just blurt it out.
It's when these little buggers get into the 5th-6th grades they realize they are in charge, and the school is helpless.
