Hi everyone.Happy New Year. I was asked a couple of months ago to make the cover art for the global band Kings of Leon and there new single Beautiful War. Because of the band I thought it would a good opportunity to do some cool marketing. I had my friend Danny Cooke make a film of the sketching process. Hope you like it. Don...I'm inclined to think pencils too because of the gradations...but when he got to the lettering the word "BEAUTIFUL" he did something you cant do with pencils...he fills the first 2 letters in solid black...then he comes back and puts a light fade over the black...it goes really fast but it starts at 1:50 in the video...you'll probably have to pause it a few times to catch what I'm saying.

I wonder how long it took you to do that wonderful artwork. And how many times did you hear, "Dinner's ready". Or, "You're dinner is getting cold" Or,"Aren't you getting hungry? Dinner was two hours ago".

Dave, its great, the drawing and the video...And Guys in the words of Mike Lavalee, you buy them (brushes or in this case pencils), with the artwork in them...Don't you know...hehe.
