Why is it that photos look sharp when I download them from my camera onto my computer screen but when I import them into Corel Draw or PhotoPaint they look terrible - all pixelated. I'm not seeing where I have any options when importing into Corel for file types or resolution settings. I'd be happy if I could just have the same quality image that appears when they are first downloaded onto my computer screen. Any suggestions for a different program? Thanks.

where are you IMPORTING pics from? phone camera? or 5-16 megapixel camera? what is the camera set to capture photos at? computers cant do anything with low resolution photos. 640 x 480 is basically a 4" x 5" photo.....on the other end my FUJI is 16 megapixel, and each photo from it is like 42" X 36"!!!

might try opening them in CorelPhoto first and then copy them into Draw?

OP - the photos look good when I load them on my computer from my 7.2 pixel camera. They are 314 dpi after loading. If I import them into either Corel Draw or Corel Photo Paint they look bad. Even though the status bar says they are 314 dpi in Corel they don't look anywhere near the original photo resolution. If I "open" them in another program,"Paint" they maintain the 314 dpi and look good. I have never used the Paint program before, it came with the computer. I would rather be able to get a good image in CorelDraw since I know how to work this program.

you got the CAMERA SET FOR LOW RESOLUTION PHOTOS. go into the setup on the camera, change it to the highest rate the camera can take. like i said my FUJI pics are 42" x 36" or 3264 X 2448 dpi. i take them into PHOTOPAINT and change resolution to 1024 X 768 if i want to post anywhere on the web. this is bout an 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper. if i want to reprint as large photos, the higher the dpi the cleaner the picture will be. also if you open the pic in COREL DRAW, there is a drop down that says EDIT BITMAP......and it will automatically move you to PHOTOPAINT
