I be feelin' ya John! As for the video, I use a Grid. But don't tell anybody. People think I free hand ALL of my painted work.

It is free hand, why on earth would anyone not use the Modern Tools to get the work done faster and more accurate... even then, the brush work still is old skool.... I have to chuckle at everyone who wants to be purists, and live like they did years ago, do they still watch a 12" Black and White TV?

One thing I tel my customers is that what I do is production art not fine art. I just need to get the darn thing done as fast as possible.

No grid here, I use a piece of chalk or charcoal stick and a piece of string for measurements or snap line, works great for finding centers or spacing. Old school striper and letterer.
