Ok, here it is. I'm painting quarter inch foam board, call it 2' x 4'. Is there any way to use a water based product for the background and not have the darn thing warp, thus making it useless.

I'd suggest you try painting both sides with equal coats of paint.

Or use the ultraboard version that has a plastic facing instead of paper.
