We had a LOT of wind on the way home, and heard reports of some nasty weather in the mid-west.
Did everybody make it home OK?
We ran over something and cut a tire down just North of Hartsell AL. A local sheriff stopped and helped us get to the Wally World, and they stayed late to replace the tire. I know some of you don't like shopping at Wally World, but try finding a new tire anywhere else at 5:50 on a Sunday night, and I did NOT want to drive the rest of the way at 50 MPH on the donut spare.

Made it home fine, Don. It sure was windy, though! Those dang big trucks were blowing all over the road.
We had some tremendous rains overnite, on Friday and Saturday. 3:15 Am, Saturday nite, I thought someone dropped a bomb in the parking lot.....shook the hotel, what's left of my hair stood straight up, and I just sat there. That was the only clap of thunder, the rain only lasted about 10 minutes......but it sure got my attention.
I had a terrific time, met a lot of new friends, and learned a few new things. Who says you can't teach an old dog, new tricks?
Many thanks to Sam, for his tremendous hospitality, and to all those present, for making my first Letterhead meet in about 15 years, a truly memorable event. Bless you guys!! I'll be back!

It was kind of a hairy drive back soon after hitting the Illinois border. Left Birmingham at 1 p.m. got into my sister's house in Charleston, IL at 11:30 p.m. where it was a total winter wonderland (I called it something nastier than that!). Took refuge there for the night. Couldn't head for Nebraska until Tuesday so it was a long process of getting home. Happily spring seems to be here now.
