Leading Edge Displays: LED displays.Out of business or haven't paid there phone bill.
Need some help. I have a customer that made the bad decision to purchase the LED's. No Software sent with the displays.

Does anyone know someone with the same LED displays and could possibly help with us getting a copy of the software?

I'm sorry I can't help. You may try a forum geared for electrical signs.

But your post serves as a warning to dealing with businesses that can go belly up without notice. There's another post for a sign shop auction.

Things are going to get worse as the new (healthcare) laws take effect.

Thanks Mike, I know electrical is not the norm here. But trying to help out a customer. You always get the most help from the great people on this forum.

But reminds me of a quote. Can't remember where I got it.. maybe here.

This is a quotation from John Ruskin (1819-1900)
"It's unwise to pay too much but it's unwise to pay too little.

When you pay too much you lose a little money, that is all.

When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything,
because the thing you bought was incapable
of doing the thing you bought it to do.

The common law of business balance prohibits
paying a little and getting a lot.

It can't be done.

If you deal with the lowest bidder,
it's well to add something for the risk you run.

And if you do that,
you will have enough to pay for something better!"

I gotta laugh!!! When I closed my business I didn't blame any government plans at all...I just decided to retire!!!

Is that so hard to comprehend?

Businesses have been "folding/closing" for decades, if not centuries, and in countries other than the USA. And for many reasons.

Why would anyone suggest that one company's closure had anything to do with one government's health care or wage laws?

Suggestions like that seem kinda silly to me.

Insurance companies have considered MY LIFE TOO BIG A RISK FOR THEIR PROFIT ever since being hospitalized with a heart condition several years ago...I for one will be grateful for the new healthcare law that will make it illegal to deny those with pre-existing conditions coverage...this has always seemed immoral to me...in fact...I would be fine with taking the middle man (private insurance) out of the healthcare equation...they take a third of the healthcare dollar for their profit yet cant even write a prescription...why are they needed.

No doubt you're right, Rusty. The government always handles these things better, and is known for its efficiency. Way too much bureaucracy in private insurance companies.

donnie you know nothing of govt run health care. so you really cant say anything other then WHAT YOUR TOLD TO SAY))))
ME, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS ARGUMENT, CAN AND DOES KNOW QUITE A BIT ABOUT GOVT RUN HEALTH CARE AND ITS BENIFITS!!!!
i have been in the GOVT RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM called VETERANS HOSPITALS & CLINICS...and i have to tell you this:
IF THE CIVILIAN HEALTH CARE was as well organized and run like the VA, we all would be better off.
i have 10 am appointment at a civilian doctor, iam lucky if get to see him within 2 HOURS OF SET APPOINTMENT!!!! on the other side the VA, i have a 10 am appointment, i show up 9:45am, iam usually out of the building, appointment done in less then an HOUR!!!!!
i have had numerous surgeries and 1-2 day hospital stays in VA HOSPITALS.......and can not express my gratitude to the people who work there. the care is exceptional. and rusty and dave are probalbly closer to the reasons the place went outa business.

yep- VA is great... except it wasn't free, it was part of a benefits package in exchange for you serving your country- which I think is a great... what do you think would happen if all of a sudden they were forced to treat everybody, give everyone the same benefits as servicemen- whether they served in the armed forces or not, or were even a legal citizen of the country... I doubt they would be any different than any other free clinic in the country.

oopps- sorry the original topic got lost in the shuffle- I don't have any experience in LEDS, but I have heard some passing topics about these open-sourced control boxes that are being used to control LED lights-- I can't remember the name of them, but at a recent tech conference there were several seminars about them and everyone seemed to be buzzing about them.

brian, my father had 2 discs removed in aspinwall veterans hosptial 1945.....the VA in pittsburgh was the 1st VA i registered with in 1969))))) i am from burgettsown/avella area.
i wll agree some are better then others, but that also holds true for CIVILIAN HOSPITALS. in pittsbugh you have ALLEGHENY GENERAL. when i lived in pa(73-80)it was not a good hospital. i have never been to a "bad" VA HOSPITAL. most of my surgeries were done at jackson miss VA. as VA hospitals go, this one is on the same level as THE CLEVELAND CLINIC is in Cleveland. and i hope you know you can choose a different VA hospital if you are not happy with the one you have. all you have to do is speak up.

Because some companies do not wish to pay the huge increase ion taxes and fees.
IE: Auto insurance that has a medical component will go up a few hundred a year due to O care laws.

For those who refuse to admit it they will soon find the truth coming to roost.
