I'd say, about 45 degrees. A job I did last winter, 2011. The guy was concerned about a few tiny bubbles, that maybe it wasn't sticking. But it's still there after 1 year. I used 3M primo. I wanted to get that job done so fast cause I was so cold doing it. I had to be extra careful removing the transfer tape, because it kept on taking the letters with it.

I've done it in a snowstorm using Rapid Tac II with no problem. If things are dry, the mid 30's should be no problem to apply dry.

15 degrees, but clean with Rapid Tac, heat with heat gun, apply, heat before removing premask, remove premask, heat vinyl again. Rain, snow, sleet etc. Rapid Tac 2 is the key (for cold weather applications.)

Down here in Texas, I don't often have to apply vinyl in really cold temps but I had to a while back. I know Roger says to use RT II but I've always been afraid of wet apps in the cold, however, I needed to make sure this went on without bubbles. I decided to actually follow the instructions, and guess what? It worked like a champ! The vinyl applied smoothly, it didn't come up when I removed the premask (after soaking the masking according to directions). I guess Roger knows what he is talking about. I'm headed to the bank in a few minutes to deposit the check from that job.

We just lettered some trucks Saturday, & as night fell, I first sprayed the door with 409 before heating it with a heat gun, to get the surface dirt off, & it froze on the door!

I recall about thirty years ago trying to tape a paper pattern to an Aluminum sign panel at 7ºF and howling wind. The adhesive on the masking tape would freeze and not stick to the surface. I finally got a bottle of water and splashed it on the panel and froze my pattern to it. I'm glad I don't have to work in those conditions too often. Of course, if you check with me in August, I might have a different opinion...

We tell our customers 50 degrees, no lower. We just don't want to take the chance. AND we don't want to work in weather under 50 degrees.

In cold weather, use 3M freezing tape for fastening and hinging, the tape is ment for the kitchen freezer bags. Its very pressure sensitive and works in cold.

I allways use freezer tape, it stays where it is put, no falling or slipping, a bit costlier but I use less then with other tapes and of course its timesaving when I dont have to redo posistioning.
