To those who may care (both of you)...my surgery went well and they took out 12" of my colon, so now I have a semi-colon. They also took out my appendix (buy one, get one free special). The biopsy showed no malignancy and the staples were removed Wednesday.
I had the surgery on Friday, November 9, got to go home two days earlier than expected, and was back in the studio the next Friday, November 16. I was supposed to be in the hospital a week and then home a week but the recovery went so well that I didn't like sitting around the house.
I have to be careful not to lift anything or do any straining, which was kind of what I was doing before the surgery.
Thanks to you all for the prayers and thoughts you sent my way. The surgeon said that I did exceptionally well, but I knew that was going to happen since so many were praying for me.
Jeanne has done a great job of pampering me and making sure that I follow directions. I am very fortunate to have a special angel looking out for me.

I'm glad to hear all went well. While you were under you shoulda had them add two inches of length to each leg as well. You could have gone for the bulk discount that way.

You're way to young to have this bother you Ray, just mellow out. Liberalize your attitude and be thankful you did not have to get this done through the ER

Does having a smaller colon make one less full of crap? LOL!
Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. I had no idea this was going on. I should come here more often.

Thanks all. I think the pampering is over around our house. It's been two weeks and Jeanne believes that I can take care of myself now. I milked it for all it was worth though. The naps were a little more frequent than normal and I got some reading done.
I've found out that there is nothing worth watching on daytime TV.
Thanks Joey for the offer to become more liberal, but I thought I was already liberal - I try to accept everyone, no matter how they may differ from me.
I have a young man working with me part time for the next few weeks to help with lifting and some of the things that I don't need to be doing. He just completed a 90 day stay at a local drug and alcohol rehab center and needed a little help in getting back on his feet...so, we are helping each other.

You're a very good Christian man, Ray . . .
Maybe now we know why you recovered so rapidly.
As it should be . . .!! Glad to know you're back at it with enthusiasm!!
