Rusty- I didn't take it as a personal attack, and I realize that we may have hijacked the post a little. I agree whole heartedly with the content of the original narrative story that Paul Harvey presented.
We seemed to have derailed on the topic of deifying science, which I take to mean "holding up mankind's knowledge as the ultimate authority". I still stand by my original statement: I DON'T THINK WE KNOW ANYWHERE NEAR WHAT WE THINK WE KNOW- science is flawed just like everything else we (mankind) touch. We have an inner desire to believe in something bigger than just ourselves- (at least I HOPE we are not the only ones in charge, or I might have to turn to existentialism.)
My desire is not to have a heated debate on Darwinian evolution -vs- Creationism, or the incorrect assumptions about radiometric dating (how old they think a rock or dug up fossil might be.) We have different set of world views and I don't think either of us will benefit anything in the long run, other than providing entertainment for the rest of Letterville- eventually getting to the point of calling each other poo-poo head and other name calling that happens here all the time.
I like you and your work, I bet we can hang out like old friends- and agree to disagree on a few things.
Now get back to work... you poo-poo head.

Nice one Bob...we played around a little bit at your expense but I think you got back even with that one...although you restrained yourself from commenting you still walked away with the best line on the entire thread..."I think my head is going to explode"...I can only imagine what you were going through,

We went to see "Life of Pi" (in 3D) tonight and it touched on many of the spiritual and human issues we all confront. It had a somewhat ambiguous ending that still has me wondering.
Great cinematography and special effects, btw.....

Rusty, I do have some inquiries for you. Would there be any way for you to consider coming to either The Dixie Letterhead meet that Sam SanFilippio will be hosting in Birmingham or the Southern Walldog Meet that Douglas Hancock is planning in Alachua, Fl.
Some give and takes are better saved for real life and are too special for forum-banter.

Steve has said that our discussions have been civil, Joey. Do you need that to make your case?

With posts like that, how can anybody defend letterville? Good thing for letterville that his guy won. Can you imagine the crap if the other guy got in?
