I have had a website up for many years, but have used the free, but limited, webspace available from my ISP.
I have been asked to expand the website and that will require paying for more space.(not really a problem)
BUT I am curious about other folks experiences and recommendations for registering a new domain name.
Any info is welcomed. Thanks

I use Site5.com. If you purchase 2 years of hosting, the cost averages out to $4.95 per month with unlimited everything. Support is fantastic. Also, the domain name is free the first year and $12 per year after that.

I have just bought hosting from register365. Had to have control of my domain name transferred to me from a web designer I used years ago. Terrible experience. They're support is useless. Takes at least 24 hours to get an email reply and each time that throws up another issue. Would not recommend at all

I use www.hover.com for most of my domain registrations. They are pretty nice to work with and their prices are reasonable.
For web hosting I use bluehost.com. Their online tools are super easy to work with. It's a snap to set up email addresses, ftp accounts, Wordpress blogs, etc.
I have a few domains with godaddy.com and wish I didn't. I think their system is bothersome.
Networksolutions.com is another registrar that I have domains with. They tend to be expensive unless you call and haggle over the phone.
My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone. Posts: 3129 | From: Tooele, UT | Registered: Mar 2005

Just curious Russ as to why you wouldn't use bluehost.com for your domain names as well? I've been very happy with them - thanks for introducing me to them.

Thanks for the various suggestions guys. I'll check them out tomorrow.
I will be using my local ISP as the host, since I know many of the folks there from when I was doing the sign work for them. Nice personal service.

Kelly, I had most of my domains before I started with Bluehost. I just noticed I haven't taken advantage of my free domain registration with them! After all these years it is still waiting for me to pick one. LOL
