How flexible are you lot with your working hours? Personally in the very busy days, five years back, I hardly ever worked Saturdays and never Sundays. I'm finding now, I'm having to work more Saturdays. Mainly due to a general drop in the rates we can get here, I find I've no choice but to put in extra hours to boost the income. Don't mind much except I'm finding as I get older, these Saturdays seem to take their toll

I decided to "schedule" work weekends a few months back. So far, seems to be working. But then again I run 2 shifts (8am-5pm) and then (8pm-midnight-1-2 am) of work in a day. If I miss one (for a kid's game or other event) I find that I loose about a day's worth of productive time. The 8-5 shift is regular "answer the phone, client pick ups, walk ins etc". Whereas the second shift is where I can have concentrated, usually uninterrupted design, install or bookwork time. I putter a few hours on non-work weekends with smaller jobs etc.

I have worked on weekends for 34 years. It's just the way my life turned out. I even work on holidays.

I work nights, weekends, holidays or whenever something has to get done, but I never missed one of my daughter's ball games and I haven't had to ask the boss for a day off in 40 years......

Any time I have work to get done. If it is hot like today, I got up at 5 and was at the job by 6am when it was 78 degrees. Three hour job and was home by 9:30 having a cup of joe and hanging out with my pup, Gracie. It will be 106 here today and I already made a quick grand.

I work nights and weekends when needed.
It's often the only time customers can/will turn loose of their vehicle for lettering.
Larger installs are often after hours too. My helpers all have day jobs, so I work around them. I do like it better when the business is closed, so we aren't in each others way, or customers walking under ladders, etc...

I never minded working weekends, but then I always tried to take a day or 2 off midweek to make up for it, the lakes and woods are a lot less crowded then too. 7 days on will eventually take its toll.

I schedule for Monday thru Friday....IF...a Saturday is needed, then they pay overtime surcharge!

Funny thing ... when they hear me say overtime, the job can wait until Monday!

My weekends are important to me. So, my hours are a lot like Si's.
On occasion, will work weekends and holidays and those jobs tend to be infrequent but quite profitable.

Havin' fun,

When I had kids (and turned 45) weekend work was done. Saturday is family day. See Exodus 20:11 for what I do on Sunday. I find I'm ready to rock first thing Monday morning. Never lost a customer because I made them wait.
