The plastic kit I've had for 25 years got wrecked on a job when I leaned a 6-foot ladder against a wall and it fell over on the kit and cracked the plastic away from these telescoping metal parts. I went to an art supply store and the only "art kits" they had were junk. Is anyone still manufacturing decent signpainter's kits?

try ebay there are several types of machinist case there and if you remove two or three of the bottom drawers they can be great sign kits,...like this one for instance $79
Yes, I own the same one.......Bought it( $125.00 ) back in 1989, while in Murfreesboro, Tenn.....Has gone to hell and back ( Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boston, Puerto Rico, Orlando, Naples, Oklahoma, etc ) has been dropped, banged, sat on it, kicked, stood on it (for different jobs ) etc....Still looks like a charm......I think that if you are lucky to get one you will, probably, never complain about making such a good investment.
The manufacturer of these kits make them to withstand all kinds of abuse. They will last forever........Mine is 23 years old.

I used a D flite for thirty years. Great kit, very durable. Gets mighty heavy when filled with everything. I downsized to something about half the size about ten years ago.

where there is an illustration showing the kit, which they code as: APBOX and price @ $220......Notice below the price, where it says: "Quantity in basket"....their answer is NONE.
It would appear that, even though they advertise this product, for sale, they do not have any in stock at this moment.
I, also, noticed at the head of the website the following disclaimer:
"We do not sell Retail to Ohio customers. If you are from Ohio, please purchase D-Flite items from our dealers. To return an order, please contact us at 419-485-0100. Orders refused by buyer will not be refunded shipping costs. No returns after 30 days. We do not accept returned products that have been used by buyer. Open packages carefully to protect items inside. We will be SHUT DOWN from Friday, December 23rd through Monday January 2nd for the holidays and taking inventory. No orders will ship during this time."

There are more red flags flying here than at a Key West hurricane. You need to contact your credit card company, no excuse for this, it takes less than a minute to answer an e mail.

Ricardo, the "basket" is empty until you check the item. I went through the entire checkout process and ordered the box, and my credit card was charged. Every time I call that phone number I get an answering machine. I wish I would just get the courtesy of a reply as I really want one of these!

I'll tell ya, after viewing the Rodney Earley kit, its awesome but I don't think it would be as good for sign dudes as well for pinstripers who use the bottle thingies. I'll stay with my D-Flites and the wooden kits..

I hope you get your kit soon. I've had one for 30 years. Mine was a gift from the people where I used to work. NCR 22 years. My only problen is I do not get to use it as much as I would like to! I really enjoy hand lettering when the opportunity presents itself.
