Hello everyone, nice to be back on this site, great to see the work be produced here. Just wanted to share some artwork that Sony and John Mayer asked me to make for John's new Album Born and Raised. The album will be released on the 22nd May. John Mayer posted the artwork on his site , here is the link. http://johnmayer.com/ Exciting to be involved with these people and also a bit scary when it came to contract and deadlines, but I got in on time. Hope you like it. Thanks Dave

Beautiful design, David - how did John Mayer know about your work? Did he or his staff direct the artwork or did they give you free rein? (I think I already know the answer to that)
Pete, let us know when the glass arrives - that would be worth a drive to Canada.....

Thanks Sonny.John would skype me every 3 to 4 days with a brief, he gave me some ideas on what he wanted to see, like the coins and medals, trade card feel. He collects real top end watches and clocks, I signed the clock face with my name. He let me run with it and was great to work with. He asked me to work with him on the cycle of the album for the next 4 months which I agreed to. nice to be asked. I have different versions of this artwork as antiques finishes worn out to look like a real trade card and they do look original. The image you are seeing is brighter and cleaner for ITunes and cd covers,Sony I think are putting up huge posters in and around cities in the US to co-inside with the tour he is about to start in April. Its on his website the dates. I made the font also on his site and called it Mayer, will be selling it on my site soon. kind of quirky old style that he wanted for the back of the album.. Thanks Sonny hope your well mate. Dave

Pete & Jay, I'm trusting the aeroplane delivering the 'wonderful' glass panel comes via Australia first, since the sun rises here before it reaches North America, and I wouldn't want you two to fight over it, so we'll just keep it downunder in our office for safekeeping. I believe Australia is relatively politically stable for the time being, so would be the best place for it...
Lovely stuff, Dave!

I would have known it was your work if I had seen it. you have your style down is what I used to think but then when I saw the clipart you sell I realised that you wear many hats when it come to your style.
Nice work as always.
still waiting for the swap piece for the mini shopfronts!
