Just wondering if your creativity pours into any other areas of your life.
I'm organizing an artisian day with some friends to build & paint bird & bat & butterfly houses.
I have severe Spring fever. Can't wait to get in the dirt and plant some things. Having new property is like an open canvas. Want to create a nature sanctuary.
Old cars and Gold Leaf glass work, Some Model Building here and there.. Now that the Kid is 21 and Hopefully moving out soon. I will make his room into my wife's and mine play room.

My family and I play bluegrass music, go to jams at other musician's houses, and have them over at ours. We also play at churches, concerts and bluegrass festivals and our music has been played on a couple of radio stations a number of times. Our next 'gig' is March 3. I enjoy trying to write songs and though we have performed a few of them on stage, we haven't recorded them all yet. Hope to do that soon.
We raise Barbado sheep and a few goats and horses on our small farm and are presently working toward turning it into an agri-tourist attraction/petting zoo. Tonight, I might go to an auction to buy a few chickens and/or ducks. I plan to break the land for a corn maze this weekend. As far as the creativity part goes, the corn maze will consist of our signshop logo and a new sandblasted/carved farm sign is in the works too.

All SO interesting! Love the bluegrass and the farming. How fun. I have a guitar. I think I can play 1/2 of twinkle twinkle little star. LOL.
Seems like we all have a love for nature and peaceful things.
I just spoke to my neighbor about his bees. What an interesting hobby. It's really much more work than you think and the weather is playing havoc with them. I learned that the hive is busy all year. They need 40 lbs of honey to survive the winter. They constantly are moving the honey to the queen, etc... She's deep in the center and is at a comfortable 72 degrees. he lost a hive last year so he's crossing his fingers this year.
Pollen is a serious issue and the chemicals in gardening, building, etc.. are all affecting our bees/nature. We need bees to polinate our plants. People are so brainwashed to use chemicals. The problem is the chemicals kill the BENEFICIAL bugs too. You can buy them - lady bugs, praying mantis, etc... and get them going in your yard. For grubs you can use milkey spores. Will get them naturally.
Again, 6 lifetimes. If I could build something that is even remotely simmilar to Grandpa Dan's projects, I'd be good.
Have a new polebarn wall that faces the road. Am going to create something cool for that big wall. Not sure yet. Maybe a big surfboard. LOL.
I also like mozaics, sculpting and anything 3d. Would like to build a cool tile sign one day like the ones we saw in COSTA RICA. FUll of Color and Dimension and shiney things and try to make it just fabulous. haha. I want to post a pic but don't know how.

I collect photographs of automobile hood ornaments, insignias and scripts that were used on radiators. I now have some 2000 of them. Will eventually make a website of them for no other purpose than to just have it as a resource for others.
Woodworking (furniture), working in my big yard, reading and taking out my Dad's 1957 wood boat to a nearby small lake....and of course my painting of landscapes, old cars and other subjects.

I used to paint with oils but haven't done that in years. I get my art fix designing signs.
Wasting time in Letterville when I should be working... but I learn lots here so it's not a waste of time and really is work--at least that's my cover story and I'm going to stick with it.

Well, that pic looks pretty bad. It's such an amazing sign. All mozaic.
I have a good pic of it. Will have to figure out the 60kb deal and get it clear. It's a 150 dpi but I shrunk it. It's blurry now. Yeah, well....Back to work.

Neil....Just a "heads up"...Polish up yer bar dancing this summer!!...Shirl and I are thinking of a road/ferry trip to the far east coast....via Quebec, then maybe Labrador, maybe NB and NS. Might even hit PEI too.
Last time I was on your island, I believe I was 4 or 5 years old, landed at Gander after a flight from England in 1948/49... Long time ago.
Edited to add...As to the original topic....
Since retirement, I enjoy road trips across the USA and Canada. Also enjoy researching and updating my website with info on how life works in Mexico, from the standpoint of a Canuck.
