My mom passed away in December, having dementia in final eighteen months, so worthwhile chats between us sadly got fewer and fewer. I had a thought yesterday, back in 2008 when she was still fully alert, I taught her to send texts prior to us holidaying in Orlando. We exchanged a few messages throughout the hols and the following year when we were again on vacation. Soon after that we bought her a new cell phone and changed her contact number on all the family phones. Last night I decided to look for her old number to see if our conversations were still intact. My daughter had it and low and behold, my iPhone had the old conversation intact. Ive read the messages so many times today and I'm still smiling. I feel like Ive got a piece of mum back, its like winning the lottery
