Kathy and me were watching tv last night when a commercial for Illinois Power Ball came on. Bouncing around the state and then...the Rt 66 mural on the back of the museum pops up. Had to back with the DVR and look a few more times. Congrats to the Diaz's, at least we know who did it.

Terry, we got to meet Billy and he even helped us paint a bit of a mural (put his handprint on it) but that part got cut from the show. I did watch it though. He is SO funny but he was really sort of quiet and shy when he met us. He did ask how to get the paint off his hand and Bill said "Oh that. That's permanent!" He got a kick out of that!

I saw the Powerball lottery commercial last night too and was just about to post that the Route 66 mural in Pontiac, IL made it to TV but of course I'm always "27 seconds ago".
It was kinda cool to see it included in a commercial for TV. I'm sure Bill, Jane, Ben and Joe were very proud. It shows that someone thinks that the mural is a part of Illinois culture and has made a lasting impression.
I'm very happy for the Diaz clan and for Pontiac. I hope we see more murals mentioned, displayed or acknowledged on TV. I'm ready to paint some more! Come on Summer!
Sign-cerely, Steve
