HAHAHAHAAAH\ wait till next week when the el ninyo fades. The cold will swoop down like a hawk and freeze us into the ice age.

Sorry Curtis, I don't buy into all that El Ninio stuff. They can't even tell us what will happen next week much less explain what will happen next year. If they're right, it was a lucky shot in the dark, thats all.
Whatever the case is, I am enjoying this warm cycle. Only 9 weeks til spring!!

Here In Newfoundland there is no snow, it was 11 degrees the other day, that's around 52F. for you guys south of the border... but that's not totally unusual for here, as the ocean keeps us somewhat temperate.... but we still have Feb to deal with, but no snow sure makes winter a little more tolerable and shorter!

Sa'all right Rick.
Most Northern residents have no concept of weather patterns caused by the tropical waters. Down South living on the oceanic currents we know the patterns and live by them.
All we do is just watch the nay sayers nay and then wait till the weather changes. It will.. By Thursday or so it will be down to the 20's.

Curtis we are all used to the weather patterns of the Lake Michigan waters.....called Lake effect. But even that has fizzled....until this weekend they say. I am sure we will get the snow and freezing temps...but it will still be easier to tolerate being middle of January, compared to November or Dec. And SI....summer may fall on a wednesday...but I NEED MY SUMMER AND SUNSHINE.

Sounds like it is coming Bill! We are have a storm watch for thursday - 5 - 10" in our neck of the woods. Will see. As a friend of mine reminded me today.....there is a certain amount of snow that is going to fall....so better it falls now and freezes than in April and May when we are ready to fish on open lakes.

The winter here in Colorado is keeping us on our toes. Today, highs in the lower 60's and a slight sun burn, tomorrow, a long drive to work in the morning because of 4" of snow. (People here still can't drive in the snow for some reason)
When I was young, I lived four and a half years in Calgary, Alberta, then a year in Denver, and moved to Dallas in the winter. I thought Dallas had the most miserable winters of any place I ever lived. I've also lived in Wisconsin, Virginia and Maryland and still think the worst weather I've dealt with is here. However, it's usually short lived and 50 and 60 degree days are the norm, not the exception.
Summer is a completely different story. My brother lives in Montana and when people mention "living up there with the bad weather", he replies, "You know what I call bad weather? A hundred and six. Now, that's bad weather!" He also says a person can always put more on but can only take so much off and remain a Christian.

So far we aren't getting much snow. We started with rain, and it switched over to snow flurries about 3 this afternoon. I just came home...the roads are bit slushy but only maybe 1-2" on the ground. I might be surprised in the morning...but to me...I think this BIG snow storm has fizzled! Will let you know in the am.

Well folks....we got about 3" of snow, they say the roads are slippery....the slush froze. So all the schools are closed. No wind...just a nice steady snow flurry. Don't think it is quite that bad out.
