John, I really like that Creamery Cafe one, that's why it was on that page. "Booths for Ladies" Forever is a long time Bill, have fun. Enjoyed painting with you this summer! Hey Rick, I'll try and give you a ring tomorrow - I think it's my turn.

Last month a building that I've lettered a few times was pressure washed to prep for painting. They took it down to a sign I did thirty five years ago. Back then, walls were lettered with enamels and had lead in them. The pressure washer didn't break through it.
Yesterday we were lettering that wall with acrylic house paints, and I realized this will never leave a ghost sign like what we know.

I was watching American Pickers last night and these 2 guys go around the country looking for old treasures, they went by Micky Gillies place in Texas and bought a ton of old Cans, Bottles and such, but they were really interested in old signs, every type of old signs, mudflaps, neon, Plywood Plastic, they were paying top dollar for them... I don't usually like reality shows, but this one is very good.
Mickey is really starting to show his age though, but he was a real gentleman.

Funny thing happened when going through the site. I came across a photo that had part of a billboard that myself and another sign painter named Stu Friesen, had painted for a movie back in 1996. We painted it to look old back then, funny how it still looks old.
