Today was another exciting day at our shop. Our Coastal Enterprises order arrived!
As we prepared for the arrival of our new axis MultiCam I let our stock of Precision Board run low. We store it in our router room and we needed room to mover the old machine out and the new one in. Now it was time to restock once more!
My good neighbor Gord was handy with his forklift. That was a good thing for this stuff is HEAVY! We got the order into the shop and sent the driver on the way. Then it was time to unwrap everything.
It is a little known fact, but the folks at Coastal Enterprises will custom cut and also glue up any shape blocks of Precision Board you might need. We are doing a new display piece for them on the four axis router and I needed a very unusual block of foam to create it.
They did the hard work and cut and fit it together for us. It arrived carefully packed and in perfect shape. It measures 24" square at the bottom and is 6' 5" tall.
I will have to practice a bit before I chuck this monster up in the router to give it a go. It is a good thing our order also included a whole bunch of various sizes of blocks. Now the fun begins!
I have no shortage of ideas and projects to use them up.

Wow, I thought I carried a big inventory ..... I usually have between 12 & 20 sheets in stock but that looks like nothing compared to your collection. I like the heavier weights but I can't lift them & I can't get a forklift up the stairs into the shop. Although it's another 3 years & 45 days before I start farting dust (60) & I'm in decent shape wrestling a full sheet of 2" 20lb around is more than I can handle safely by myself, & thats only 106 lbs.

I've been stockpiling candy, dinosaur toys and anything else I can use to get Phoebe to be my spy on location. I plan to attend Dan's workshop in March and while he thinks I'm admiring his work and his new machine, I'll be secretly planting minature cameras everywhere. Raymond, we'll finally be able to see who really does the work around there and maybe even see where he hides the straight edge. I call it "Operation 4th Axis of Evil"

Doug - I've been there and know who does the work. When you attend you will be working on a project...it just happens to be something that you've always wanted to do. Later, you will see it as a "sign" he has installed. Remember Tom Sawyer?
(Honestly - those are usually signs he donates to some worthy cause... but it's still fun to poke at him.)
All the squares and straight edges are attached to the wall.
Even though I kid him tremendously, Dan is one of the hardest worker I've ever seen. He goes in a non-stop motion whenever I've been around him.
