After a long debilitating illness, my my Mum passed away last night peacefully in hospital. We are a small but close family, my Dad, Vincent, wife Ann and three daughters Tara, Cliona and Alison. Tough days ahead but she suffered so much in recent years, its a relief to know she is now at peace. Your prayers would be very much appreciated

Prayers for comfort and peace, Kevin. Very sad - my mother is battling breast cancer, so I know how stressful and worrisome a son's love for his mother can be.

You have my condolences. Mom and Dad are always Mom and Dad. I lost my mother seventeen years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of her and the things she said and taught us. Of course, I also have her picture as my wallpaper.
My father is in good health at eighty eight and is flying with my equally active ninety five year old step mother to Costa Rica tomorrow for a vacation trip.

Kevin, so sorry to hear this. My Mom is also in bad health so I dread the day I get the sad news. But as you say, it will be a relief knowing they are in a better place. I pray that you will be at peace.

Thank you all for your kind words. Its reading these messages, text messages and calls from friends coupled with people travelling great distances to be with us that has gotten us through the first day. Two more days to struggle through now

Thankfully weve made it to Friday night. My dear Mum has been laid to rest. A beautiful occasion with my daughters doing the readings, relatives and friends from far and near all rallied around us. Wonderful sentiments here, on facebook, by text all helped hugely in what has been a truly emotional rollercoaster for us all. We can now concentrate on remembering the first seventy healthy and happy years of her life rather than the last four of pain and permanent struggle.

May you be surrounded in peace and memories of her still living spirit. I love having my Mom around in spirit, as I lost her 23 1/2 years ago. I lean on family and friends and do believe there is a special place for us after this short life. Take care, so sorry about you losing your Mother.
