While working on the movie The Frozen Ground, the cabinet shop foreman came in to the paint area to clear off a set piece with MinWax's water-based polyurethane. I'd been using that stuff for what I was working on all week, although I was using it brushed on. And, I loved the stuff. But the foreman was spraying and asked me if it bothered me. I couldn't even smell it, and I was sitting down drawing, so I said, "go ahead man...". About 30 seconds later I was what felt like a near death experience. Hit me extremely quick. Blood pressure dropped off the chart, 911 called etc...

Bottom line is this. That stuff is great for brushing, but atomized it does require a mask. The scary thing is you can't smell it. a local bloke was spraying without a mask and passed out while he was working, so I'm not the only one.

Great heads up... and a reminder why we all need to wear proper respiration equipment.

Maybe that's why it's called the frozen ground!

Seriously though-thanks for the heads-up.
