Daughter #1 and I are participating in http://www.brisbanezombiewalk.com/ As we don't generally celebrate halloween here I haven't had the pleasure of learning how to make fake gizzards etc. but I'd like to do this right. As it stands at the moment I (almost) have a suit ready to rend asunder, a pair of white contact lenses on order and a couple of ideas. If you have any favourite ways to make fake intestines or gaping wounds I'd very much appreciate hearing them. Thanks

I would suggest just buying some stuff online. The Fright Catalog has alot of makeup stuff that you can use to make zombies. There are a bunch of other sites that you can get stuff from too. You could try to make your own prosthetics, but I don't really know too much about that whole process. One year in our haunted house one of the guys playing a zombie kept a bottle of chocolate syrup behind the scenes that he would fill up his mouth with right before a group would come by, & then let it drip out of his mouth once they could see him. That looked really cool.
