We are doing some graphics on an enclosed trailer. Its gonna be 3-4 colors and instead of layering vinyl I am gonna print and contour cut. What vinyl do you all use for this typically? We keep oracal 3651 and 3M IJ180 is the 3651 good enough for this?

Hiya Henry,
How long does the client want it to last?
For a "permanent" installation, I typically use 3M IJ180C (v1) with 3M 8519 luster laminate. Gloss is an option too, but it depends on what the client wants.
If it's temporary, I'll just use whatever is "cheap" from my digital print supplier.

Havin' fun,

Checkers

On something like this with flat surface is $12-$15 per sq.ft. installed for IJ180C about right.

If you are going over the rivets/screws you will want to use the 3M, but if the trailer is put together with screws and you can remove them and reinstall them thru your vinyl the 3651/210 will be fine.

Take all the screw that you remove and stick them in a piece of Styrofoam and spray paint the heads or use a lettering brush and paint the heads after you put them back in.

My experience down here in the south where no one has any money is the cheaper option is the only one you will be able to compete with.
