The folks who are producing the Sign Painter Movie documentary asked me to design a graphic for a new campaign they will be starting called "Support Your Local Sign Painter" Here's what I came up with that they will be using:

 -

You can download a vector version by clicking here:

EPS VERSION
http://starrstudios.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/SUPPORTLOCALLOGO.eps

http://starrstudios.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/SUPPORTLOCALLOGO.pdf

... I am hoping that if we help support this that it might raise awareness for all of us.

So there's your assignment Sign Painters: download> paint> take a pic and post it. Get to paintin' and spread the word.

I like it!! Thanks Sean. I used to live in Big Bear in the late 60's and early 70's. It's changed a bit since I imagine.

Shouldn't the letters be "painted" as it describes painting signs? Well, nice...

Rather than using some computer fonts, let's see a HAND PAINTED version of it!

Pickett has the right idea, why put a brush if using a computer font? Either use hand lettering or replace the quill with a computer.

First off, thank you Sean. [Smile]

What's up with some of us here? Sean did a nice thing, and we want to pick it apart.

Sean didn't ask for critique, and we can either use it or don't. Since he provided a no charge vector file, it is easy to alter it to your liking.

Let's not overthink it. The idea is to promote local sign business. It's just a label.

Just my .02 [I Don t Know]

I have to agree with Rick too.

Can't we still handpaint the logo he's presented?

By the way, Sean, how big did you want our pieces to be? I've gotten most of the use back in my right arm, and I'd still like to give it a shot. Haven't had a brush in my hand for several months.

For those of you who understand the big picture: welcome aboard.

I made the graphic very plain and black and white so each sign artist can put their spin on it. Its basically just a kick start that everyone can then take and interpret creatively in their own style and way, so have some fun and make it your own!!!
