So I am looking at buying a new 21" iMac and want to know if it will run my Signlab v9 along with my old cm24 cutter?

I had my laptop stolen and think this may be a good time to switch?

beyond software compatibility, you would also want to make sure the Mac has right connectors.

My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone.

Like Russ said. Signlab won't run on the MacOs so you will have to get Parallels and run windows through that. I don't know but I imagine your Roland doesn't have a USB port so you'll have to mess with some sort of converter for that.
If you truly want to go this direction you would be better off purchasing Illustrator and a Graphtec plotter which runs off it's own Illustrator plug in.

It's always a good time to switch though. [Roll Eyes]

Keyspan Adapter for USB to serial connection works on all my Macs and Vinyl Express plotters. Software compatibility is another issue.

Thanks I will keep thinking if it is worth the switch.

I may even try another software and not repurchase signlab if something else will work better/easier?

If I can get my plotter working on a mac I may do that, my wife has a new MBP coming so i may try on that first.

These should work, assuming your Roland has 25 pin serial port:

I would recommend trying VMware Fusion to run Windows. So far on my MacBook Pro it handles everything well. Easy to go back and forth to Windows 7.
