Like Russ said. Signlab won't run on the MacOs so you will have to get Parallels and run windows through that. I don't know but I imagine your Roland doesn't have a USB port so you'll have to mess with some sort of converter for that. If you truly want to go this direction you would be better off purchasing Illustrator and a Graphtec plotter which runs off it's own Illustrator plug in.
It's always a good time to switch though.

I would recommend trying VMware Fusion to run Windows. So far on my MacBook Pro it handles everything well. Easy to go back and forth to Windows 7.
