I received a request to engrave 156 3/4 birch cabinet doors that have a hardwood verneer with the MSU logo. See Below.
The doors are 12 x 60" Logo goes in top of door. Logo is approx. 6x8"
I think a laser engraver would be a better option then my CNC for this, although I thought I might be able to do some sort of cross hatch pattern in the stroke of the "M" to fill it in.
How would you set it up if you had a CNC, and anybody out there with a Laser, can you give me an idea what you would charge for this.
CNC people your pricing ideas would be appreciated also.
If you don't want to put pricing in a public forum email or pm me.

I don't know if you got any answers to this question, but one would need more information in order to quote this. I have a laser engraver but the bed is only 12" x 24". I could open the front and do the top as you suggest.
But do want to just burn the logo into the veneer, or do you want some depth? Adding depth would slow down the process and raise the price.
Also wood density varies from piece to piece so getting a consistent engraving from door to door over 156 pieces would be nearly impossible.
I don't think laser engraving is the way to go with this many pieces.
Hope that helps. Real Mercier
