Does anyone have any info about sandblasting acrylic. In my research I have found conflicting opinions on grit and process.
Is it possible first, and if so, what should I expect to encounter. The piece is 1.5" inches thick and I would like to get at least 1/4" deep blast. Then I want to edge lite it so it will glow at night. I haven't purchased it yet, but hoping to get my mind right before I jump into this project.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Been doing a lot of sandcarving on glass lately. Works just fine with regular sand but you must be patient. It does take time. I suppose it would depend on what type of pattern/design you are doing Jackson as to what type of blast medium to use. But I see no foreseeable problem with sandblasting acrylic. Probably be easier than glass. I would suggest you check out some glass carving forums and see what they think.

After much thought and research with other forums, I have decided to have it done on a CNC router. Not the look I was hoping for...but It will work OK. Several problems can come up, and with a high price tag on the acrylic....I can't afford any mistakes.
I guess there are some projects that I can't do, so I will stick with the ones I can.
