Other than RapidTac products (not avaliable to person appling vinyl graphics) what would you use to remove wax/polish from a fiberglass hull yacht I suggested Isoprohyl Alcohol applied with cheap paper towel. After doing that, she said the vinyl just won't stick. Any other ideas ?....thanks

If it is not painted, but just gel coated, you can safely use acetone to really wash out any oils. I remember one time I did a transom and it was painted with some auto urethane with the proper clear. I touched it with acetone and it immediately came off. Acetone evaporates 280 times fasted than the slowest solvent, kerosene, so that should tell you how fast it explodes if given a chance. The do use it for rocket fuel. The stuff is very flammable, so be forewarned and do not leave the can in the sun. It is also to supposedly a carcinogen like benzene, so be careful with Acetone.
Another trick I have used is mineral spirits on a clean rag with Bon Ami sprinkled onto it, before applying. Then a final clean min spts rinse with another clean rag. The Bon Ami does scrath the surface very lightly and will aid in the adhesion of painted letters or vinyl.
