Why am getting bubbles in my vinyl when I apply to polymetal or aluminum panels? I apply wet and squeegee, using 3m. gerber and oracal. Never had this problem before, maybe my app fluid is too watered down?

I should clarify, if it makes a difference that I am putting small sheet vinyl down without transfer tape onto polymetal. My application fluid is watered down.... don't know if makes a difference. But I will sharpen my squeegee,'Thanks

Diane
Rub the edge into the hump of another squeege a few times and then run your finger on the edge to see if it's smooth. Any bumps do it again.

Hiya Jeff, If sharpening the squeegee doesn't work, try waiting a little longer before you peel the application tape off.
Maybe Roger can chime in on this, but I would assume watering down the application fluid will lessen the effectiveness of the fluid and require more wait time to activate or set up the adhesive.

Hi Jeff. Well, usually bubbles are caused by using "soap/water" as a positioning fluid,(note I said "positioning fluid") Soap&water does nothing more then aid in positioning, so I don't call it "application fluid'.
If you water down Rapid Tac or TacII they will not work well for you, period.
Also, bubbles can be caused by cleaning improperly, you should clean only with Rapid Tac or TacII and cheap grocerystore paper towel, no other cleaning products were designed to clean and leave the compatable residues of Rapid Tac or TacII.

I always use felt tipped squeegee and never use application fluid except on window frosting. If weather is too hot, it will cause bubbles but we don't have to worry about that here too often
