The product made by 3M, 8513 8 mil Clear Polyurethane Protective Film, that is used to protect paint from road chips, scratches, etc. is only sold by the roll. 24in by 30 ft. Would you think that the 3M Gerber High Performance Clear Enamel Receptive vinyl might work just as good? The 8513 is 8mil thick. The regular clear vinyl is 2 mil thick. Maybe it would work if I doubled it up.

I have seen Ferrari, Porsches & other exotic cars at Watkins Glen International during the season and this tape is STRONG! It is used on leading edges of Indy Car wings.
There is no substitute!

Alicia, if you're looking for an application for a specific vehicle, do a search on (auto) bras. There are a bunch of them already made, and will save you a bunch. That stuff is Xpensive!

yes, you're not gonna achieve what you think you will by doubling up. That stuff is thick, kinda similar to convex highbond from graphicms.com, but not the same stuff.

Alright, alright. I bought a roll of the stuff. I will practice on my husband's new Toyota 4Runner.
