I'm trying to cut out a decal that I have printed and I'm struggling on how to match up a point to where it would cut out the decal. I am using a product call papilio inkjet white waterproof vinyl. It's perfect for my little job. So I print out the decals on the 8.5"x10" sheet with registration marks. Then I cut it out matching the knife on the plotter to the point of the registration mark. It's off to the left. I use flexisign 7.6v2 Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I hope I've explained it well enought.

Put a piece in the cutter and mark where it is starting, once you know where the cutter is cutting, try adjusting where it will be printed on the printer to the same measurements instead of printing and then trying to align it.
just a suggestion

I'm thinking you have a vinyl plotter and not a vinyl and contour cutter. The contour cutters have a built in alignment feature so your best bet is to do what Sam said.

Graphtec legacy plotter manuals have an excellent description on the alignment process of printed decals on plotters without optical alignment features. You'll find the technique is similar regardless of design software or plotter.
