I too have retired and will no longer answer any questions pertaining to ANY subject. I have become a licensed medical marijuana farmer in a state which is truly free from government intervention as shown by the Bush-Ashcroft scenario of our dying with dignity act here in Oregon some years back.
I would like to express my condolences to all those of you who are unhappy with the way things have gone because you have let go of your life and relieved yourself of your own responsibility yet blame the economy for your situation. You have bought new vehicles and spent money on things which weren't needed, complained about the Chinese while shopping at Wal.Mart, the flooding at your business after which having our government pay for your return more than once and the drama of your lifestyle never realizing that second place is the first loser.
If it weren't for Old Paint Joe, I wouldn't have come back to the censorship expressed here as I raise my flag and yell, Viva El Madden,,,

Since turning 58 years I have adopted a much healthier lifestyle, began studying the piano, take a natural daily liver cleanse tonic, abstain mostly from alcohol and caffine, started growing my own veggies and still have a list of "other do-away-with" items to finish out the year. Then I will get started on the real bucketlist, as I start my 59th year with a bang. When I'm ready for a smoke break --- oh well-- See you later Joey!

So just yesterday, I brought my totally stock appearance 1990 Chevy truck complete with faded original paint to the Music Shop here in town and explained that I wanted an amplifier hooked up under the dash unseen to a small RCA jack in the ashtray and speakers so I could run an Ipod and leave the dash stock looking as not to invite thieves, Their piece of the conversation goes like this, we could install a FM transmitter which will allow the Ipod to work from the stock radio and through its speakers perfectly, cost is 140, No problems on my end yet after this is finished, there is a noticeable noise during its transmittance which I than explain is annoying, We'll look at it when you return as we're closing shortly. Well after a phone call today they tell me I should have had them put a new receiver in the truck which I am totally against as I wanted a totally stock original appearance for the vehicle yet they say, well. you've got a Corvette engine and six speed transmission in the truck and the whole thing is built so what's the problem with a little noise? After hearing that comment and my reply, we both agreed the best solution would be for them to mind their own business and do what I asked in the first place, make it invisible and work correctly or remove it and return the money.

A simple wired jack outlet would be too esay and inexpensive and less profitable for them, so they upsold you to a wireless system.
They didn't get it right so have them haul it out and refund your money and go to someone who knows what they are doing and will do what you really want!
I understand...our last 3 vehicles all have had simple jacks for I-pods, MP3 players, sat radio or laptops. Ain't that hard.
(edited to add) BTW congrats on finally "admitting" yer retired. Since I don't consume medicinal herbs we have to live in Mexico on affordable booze!!! LOL
Different strokes for different folks!

OK, that's the last straw - I say we break out the weapons and get the revolution started.
Let the battle cry VIVA EL MADDEN ring out across the land and inspire all who are not previously engaged watching "Survivor" to bring about the positive change we all know can be achieved if we just establish a common rant. We will join together and fight the insidious mediocrity and complacency plaguing our society - let's follow our gallant mentor into a new age of enlightenment.
OK, WHO'S WITH US?
' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' anybody???

Years back I foreseen the way my life was heading and decided that in order to live a sustainable life without interference from those who want to interfere, such as do gooders and others with behavioral defects, I must than keep a low profile and with no more than 3 vehicles, two computers and a couple of WMD, I than set off to discover what is was that was needed and not just wanted. I'm a lazy f----- and just need to eat, sleep in peace and wake up refreshed which doesn't always just happen that way without the necessities which make it possible. These necessities are good water, a five star bath and less talk.
The little doggie of the house turned nineteen this past January and keeps both of us energized by having me play ball with her, which without her I'd be fat and nasty instead of just nasty. All in all I'm fairly happy, debt free and own everything I have outright and all because I geared myself to live right and live white a very long time ago, I'll worry about the afterlife when ministries start worrying about their flock instead of their pockets nd the same goes for governments..
Take care Steve and remember, you and Barb are always welcome, but there's no closet in the guest room and that's gotta tell ya something...

Patrick Sweeney: I've known about this for quite some time also that the big tobacco companies are buying land in NorCal, SoOr and other places for their plantations, wonderful, I'm happy for them. Bottom line is when this gets accomplished, they will take an herbal remedy and turn it into a drug and laws may be changed again and so on and so forth, so what else is new. Some in this country will still cower to the persons in charge and complain about the government yet do absolutely nothing. NORML will fight as they have been doing and some will still smoke, grow and live their lives the way they been doing since day 1
So what else is new?

I notice this thread started on 4/20... coincidence?
Joey, I've got one of those FM things for my MP3 player and I get static too. It does that in both of my vehicles. Those things are junk. I wonder what Mr. Natural's got on the tractor?...probably an 8-Track.

Yes it was a coincidence Dale and I should have been a little bit more precise to the question thingie. I actually meant, in depth questions regards to the questions which are often asked here in relation to work.
Brent, I basically straightened out the hiss after reading what an Ipod forum had to say in regards to this. They took responsibility on their end for the static and hiss and showed me what can be done to lesson the noise as the Ipod has an equalizer which can be adjusted as does my vehicles stock system. It now works better. My truck has a stock am-fm and a detached cassette player both in the dash in its stock location.
The facts are even in yours and my business, there is always room for change. always room for new ideas, even if they come from persons who aren't in our business and that's how I got this FM transmitter instead of the amplifier hook-up for the Ipod and a A-B switch for the speakers like our computer had and maybe still do.
I live in a town that's far behind and although others do not believe that, some are beginning after 15 years to see my point. I had to drop using HoK years back because the main paint supplier here in town complained to the distributor where I too had an account from both NY and California. They said it would hurt their stationary business to sell to me because I didn't have a storefront as they hadn't a clue back in 96 what the internet was and where I sold paint from and knew nothing of my KillerKoncepts website. When I lost my distributor I lost my discount and the paint store said the price would remain the same. My first order they wanted 175% more than I originally paid.
Why I brought that up only Jack Wills would understand...

Their next move will be to have their "scientists" discover that pot is good for all sorts of ailments, from sore feet to stuffy noses, then their medical marijuana market wont be restricted to the small size it is now.
After that I suppose they'll start thinking about crack and speed and opium, and the benefits they provide. I can see the TV ads already -- "Tired, listless? Get up to speed with Amphetijag!" "Restless, nervous? Relax with tried and true Opium Plus!"
I'm a cigar smoker and I've thought seriously about seeing if it's possible for me to change my citizenship to Indian. Or as the fashionable name is now, Native American. I'll argue in court that I'm a Native American because I was born in Memphis, Tennessee.

I'm not retired and I'll answer any question. Of course, I don't know very much so the answer would probably not be of much help, but the results would keep Joey's thread going.

Joey probably knew the answer before I did but was just to humble to bring attention to himself.
Joey is a friend and the pokes I make at him are all in fun, so don't try to read anything into my comments. He and I don't always agree on everything but that does not lessen my respect for him.
If I listen close enough I can learn something from every person I meet.

It’s actually : “The gods help those who help themselves” from Aesop’s fable “ Hercules and the Wagoner” written sometime in 550 BC
HERCULES AND THE WAGONER by Aesop A wagoner was once driving a heavy load along a very muddy way. At last he came to a part of the road where the wheels sank halfway into the mire, and the more the horses pulled, the deeper sank the wheels. So the Wagoner threw down his whip, and knelt down and prayed to Hercules the Strong. “O Hercules, help me in this my hour of distress,” quoth he. But Hercules appeared to him, and said: “Tut, man, don’t sprawl there. Get up and put your shoulder to the wheel.” - The gods help those who help themselves.”

OK I finally read the whole story of hercules here. I was always told it was Ben Franklin that said, "God helps those who help themselves." Wonder if he got it from Aesop?
