Just got off the phone with Bob and Marcia. They're in Bristol, Tenn. All is well but 7mpg sucks. 3300 miles is a long trip with all the freight they're carrying. They are offline until they setup the computer at the new digs. So if anyone hears from them, please post any new updates. They were considering Bubba Burgers for supper to celebrate Rapid's birthday but had to settle for fried chicken and okra.

Best of luck to Bob and Marcia. I was hoping to get back out to the East Coast to see you guys again but it looks like I'll need to head to the other coast. Perhaps this summer after the wedding?

Talked to Bob a few minutes ago. 200 miles east of Amarillo. They were hoping to make The Big Texan for supper but won't be able to wait that long. All is well with 1900 miles gone under the wheels. 70 degrees and green everywhere. It hurt to tell him we had 27 degrees and 6 inches of snow.

Ahhhh, The Big Texan - my only cross country road trip we stopped there and my travelin' buddy surprised all the staff by finishing the giant porterhouse, baked potato, Texas toast and salad. If you can eat it in one sitting, it's free. He's only about 5'-7", 140 lbs. I've told him ever since he must have duct-tapeworms.
Thanks for keeping us informed of "Peach Progress" Ron - Bob and Marcia are special people.....

When the called this this morning, their time, they were in New Mexico with 1100 miles to go. Sonny, when Bob mentioned the Big Texan, I looked it up on the web. That 72oz piece of meat is so big it should have eyes and could eat me.

Sunday morning.... I spoke with Bob last night as they were nearing Flagstaff where they'd probably spend the night. From there it's about a ten hour drive to their destination. Bob say's the motor home is burning a gallon every seven miles. That's close to $35 an hour in fuel! That's $350 in fuel today.

Bob and Marcia are in California. Talked a little last night. Must be quite a culture shock for them. Different climate, different prices, different landscape, and way different critters. May take a while before they get online. And they have to travel miles to town for supplies, hahahahahahaha
