I am being asked to quote on installing Avery MPI 1005 EZ cast white vinyl (or equivalent easy apply vinyl) with Avery DOL 1000 cast gloss laminate (or equivalent). I am unfamiliar with this material, but very familiar with 3M Controltac. My question is, are they similar, are there any tips/tricks I should know about for the application?

I am not a Big Fan of Avery just like Most.. But I will have to give Avery Credit as their EZ is fantastic to work with and really lasts.

One thing when I first used it was I didn't think it would stick.. the initial tack made me nervous but this allowed us to reposition it with no problems. (So don't think its bad when you first use it) Then after a Day this stuff is down. Just install it like you would 3M.. Then set it with a Heat gun..

When forming it don't get it to hot as the heat starts to set the adhesive and that's when you'll get in trouble if you start "Popping off to much" and you can over stretch it.

Now this stuff really shines when you go to take it off.. I had it on 3 years and still looked good and when we went to pull it off.. Not a spot of glue was left on the truck when we pulled it off and it came off in one full sheet..

Granted I no longer do wraps but if I was I would still use the Avery.

Hiya Corey,
I haven't tried it yet and I have no plans to either.
So, the only advice I would give is to charge extra and not offer ANY warranty with it.

Havin' fun,

Checkers
