Removed masking sheet from vinyl lettering and wow something extra has shown up...a haze on the letters.Does anyone know what causes this and how can it be removed to restore the original gloss.

Hi Bill. That haze results from the vinyl rubbing against the paper backing material when it's on the roll. If you hit it with a heat gun, the original gloss will be restored when a certain temperature is reached. Be careful not to "overcook" it though. You will see the shine re-appear, then move to another area.
Hope this helps you out.

we see this all the time especially with our 24" 220 black more at the end of the roll my nd graphic sales guy said its caused by sweating in the roll as it's being processed, hit it with heat shines right up.

Bill, Ken and Maurice are correct. Just like "tiny bubbles" in the vinyl job, a day or two in the sun will cure the problem.
