If you resemble this description and want to participate, please give me a call at 519-426-6124, or email me at randy@kwic.com, and I'll fill you in on what it's all about

This is an interesting idea of finding young signmakers. We all here get so focused on all this experience and wisdom and I celebrate the idea that there are some younger sign makers out there who are trying to learn the skills.
I was 27 with a degree in drawing and painting and three years of architecture grad school when I started my first sign shop. We had an opaque projector and hand pounced all out patterns to quill out trucks, cattle trailers and business signs. The only thing we had for reference to new ideas was Signs of the Times. No Letterville and no other signmakers to help us grow....and of course I had to walk to work every morning in the snow ten miles LOL.
I saw an ad from some company in Arizona that had computer cut vinyl Helvetica letters. Wow!
Today's realities are so much better. How come there are not more young painters coming up behind us? Is it a lack of work ethic or just that we are not fostering young people coming up behind us?

yes Rusty - I must agree that the phrase "HOOK UP" was an unusual choice of words on my part for this project - but since it's out there, if anyone out there wants to "HOOK UP", I am going to wave the 30 and under requirement for all the beautiful and talented ladies here in Letterville.

hi Jack - I am 51 now , and just reflecting on how I started out in the business made me wonder about what attracted the next generation into the sign industry, so I ran the idea of doing a story past the boys at Signcraft, they said give it a shot and see what happens
