I tried taking a video with my digital camera and the file size was huge so I decided to just post 4 pictures of where we are on Dec 28, 2010
About 75 F but breezy.
The first pic is the back side of the house. And that is our Ontario plated Explorer that we drove down 3 years ago and leave with friends here during the summer.
The second is the small back yard where we planted a couple of overripe tomatoes today. Should have plants within a week.
The next two pics are of our front yard with the Gulf, pool, palapa and cactus garden. We have the pool blanket on the pool cuz it IS winter and if we didn't we wouldn't use the pool until March!!

Thanks Neil...I loved your video and it is great for you to still be able to ride at this time of year.
One of these summers we have to get to Nfld. Last time I was there I was around 4 years old..A layover on the way to Toronto. That's over 60 years ago!!! About time to re-visit.
I have a couple of very good friends from my boatbuilding years who were transplants to Ontario and decided to return to their "homeland".
One question, who did you have do the voice-over on the video??? That voice did not sound Newfie!!!

Neil, I too haven't seen much difference between your video and Dave's photos as both were sparse of the forestry I've become accustomed to. I can see all sides of the scenario which offers whatever it is some feel is needed in their lives as long as one loves seafood
BTW Neil, its nice to put a voice to all your photos for a change.

The only thing better is to meet in person!!!
Even though I am no longer active in the business I am planning on attending a couple of meets each summer to keep in touch and maybe meet folks that I haven't in the past.
In addition to reuniting with folks we have already met, of course.
(Spent this morning with a good buddy here who is an ex-pat from Georgia...practicing my southern dialect!!! )

Thanks so much, I do have a bit of an Irish slang, I was just trying to slow down so you people could understand me. lol Would'nt be great if we all did a little video of our homes and some narration? I bet we would hear some great accents.

After seeing photos of a person you begin to imagine what they may sound like. Just like in the days of radio when you would try to imagine an image to go with the voice.
They never match up like you see and hear in your head...even your own voice the first time you hear yourself on tape or video.
One unique thing is that after you hear someone speak, and later you read something they've written, you can hear their voice as you read.
Doesn't have anything to do with signs...but, hey, it's a slow day.
Thanks for sharing, Neil - you live in a beautiful country.

Thanks Duncan and Ray, that is so true about seeing Faces and trying to match up a voice in your head, I've been to Texas a few times, so I have a voice for Ray in my head, lol.. I wonder how close it is?

Whaaaattt? Nice Weather in Newfoundland? Are you serious???? Last time you guys came to Consac you had had snow the year before from October til June!
It must be a banner year on the East Coast! Or has everything changed and now, and two days later you are under 4 ft of snow with glacial bone chilling winds that make the cat hang on to the lamppost to avoid being splatted onto the front of an unsuspecting passerbys car like a snowball sent from the neighbourhood demons!

Well, we had a sprinkling of snow last night, just a dusting really, but the Temperature is hovering around 0, or 32f, back to reality I guess, at least I had a Ride on the bike, people were golfing that day as well,
Thanks for the compliment on Newfoundland Elaine, everyone should make it "Home" once in their lifetime.
Funny stuff Deri, but we really don't get a lot of snow until January, it's hard to believe but it's true, at least on the east coast.

See, now you have to go back to the very same place, late spring, and do Part Two of the video. We had a sprinkling of little ice balls last nite. Today they are crunchie.
