I've been having a little Christmas fun over at Funky Junk headquarters.

 -

I added some rusty old licence plates to my tree, which in turn, set the theme for the rest of the crazy that soon followed.

 -

Not having room outside for the 'root ball' variety yet liking that look, an old tub hides the tree stand, replacing a traditional tree skirt.

 -

 -

Lots of junky artifacts adorn the branches, along with a few of my mom's treasures.

Full tree post can be viewed at:

 -

Sticking with a sign theme, this hand painted reserved sign found a good home with this front entry display.

My entire home junk reveal for the ultra curious is at:

Case in point... who needs traditional decor when you can use stuff you love year around? [Smile]

 -

Peace friends! And have yourself a great season!

Anyone else doing something unique to their tree or home decor this year?

Yes Donna. We are. When I was a kid we didn't have much money so all of our Christmas ornaments were made by Mom, Dad and us kids.
20 years ago things got a bit better so Mom and Dad bought the usual stuff from the stores and the ornaments we'd made disappeared.
One week ago my Sister was going through the attic in Lost Prairie and found a sealed box, opened it and..... there they were! Now they're on a tree again. Mine. [Smile]

This was me the day before Christmas a long time ago. Santa hadn't come yet and it shows in my face, but our ornaments were on the tree. We hadn't made a lot of them by then.

 -

By this itme we'd made a bunch of them, and its the kind of tree I'm glad we have now. Now my own son can see the difference that was the old days.

 -

This is Julian on the stairwell in Lost Prairie the other day. There is an odd shaped package behind the tree and we went up to see if he could see it from up above. He wasn't able to so his main present is still a mystery to him.
