Rick,... the books that aren't digitized by google(the books from the library of congress) can be downloaded,..just click on the title and then in the left window click on the pdf link,...once this opens you can click on the floppy disk icon in the adobe reader and save the booki to your hardrive for future reference
as for the ones that are digitized by google you have to click on the link and then click on the pdf link in the left window then click on the search inside button,..,in the next window if you look in the top right of your screen there will be pdf link with an arrow before it,...click this link and you can download the google book
edited to ad ,...after checking my spelling I looked in the google books site that comes up after the first title on the above link and there are several other books available on the google site(related books link) in addition to the link above,...,it is so neat some of the search tricks they are teaching me at computer school here,...

For future reference if anyone needs an old book on a particular subject ,...say hand lettering for example you can enter the search criteria on the above site and gain access to many antiquated books online,...seems the library of congress, google and a couple of other organizations have been and still are digitizing all their old out of print texts and putting them online,..it is an ongoing process that we are so fortunate to have access to,..all we have to do is use it

I happen to have a book called 1000 showcard designs. Every imaginable showcard for almost any kind of product from early 1900's.

edited to add,..I found at least 25 old sign hand lettering and showcard textbooks here,..not to mention another half dozen letter style(alphabets) books in a couple of the books there is a catalog in the back for mail order books and alot of the books listed are in the library of congress it just`takes some looking to find them,..I have a sneaky suspician I'm hoping I'm only looking at` the tip of a huge iceburg here,....

Sounds real cool Jack would love to check it out someday,......Old sign books are among the coolest things I can think of,....it took me almost twenty-five years into my career before I actually saw or got a chance to read more than a half dozen old texts on the subject,... then me and a buddy stumbled on another dozen or so in the shop of an old painter who was retiring,....it's an addiction I am reluctant to kick,....

Looking at some of the Sign art from these findings is kinda like getting stoned. Not many sign shops left today but lots of sign stores I guess. Thanks Tim, for bringing this out of hiding...
