I burned my old job files to disc to free up HD space. I want to open an old file and can't as I get cycle redundancy check message. I see where the burning software changed my file from sign2.FS to sign.2.FS. Is there a workaround where I can recover this file? Thanks

It looks like when the file was created some part of it got corrupted in the cd burning process,..are all the files on the cd that way? crc checking is a binary algorithm to make sure files are kept intact during a transfer process,..usually we never see it until something goes wrong during a transfer,....crc checksum failing indicates the file has part of the original data missing or corrupted,..you might try copying the remains of the file to your hard drive and renaming it to see if any of the original data was left intact.

Tim, only some of the files are corrupted this way.I get the cycle redundancy deal when I try to drag it to desktop or open it in the native program(so I can't get it off the disc to rename it). I will double check the file properties next time before I delete files from my hd.Back to the drawing board....
