I am getting some unusual sign projects lately. This summer I was lucky enough to make a 8' wide banana split for a ice cream shop and now a big 4' wide carmel apple covered with nuts. The owner of a gift shop/candy store asked me to make him a big carmel apple to put out by his sign (that I made also!) to get ready for the fall season. We also added "NOT ACTUAL SIZE" on the stick!
We took a photo with our digital camera of one of his very own carmel apples. It's not quite a Dan Sawatzky-type project, but was still better than a typical vinyl on plywood 4x8. As soon as I learn to post a photo I will share. I really need a tutor on posting photos.

I'm also doing a candy store, the sign is dibond with some 3D candies and I will be making an all day sucker to stand out front. I'll post some pictures tomorrow

A caramel apple would be fun to do. Today we are working on an six foot bonsai tree... abracadabra sculpt of course.

I have to try using the Magic Sculpt stuff on future projects. The 8' long banana split sign really did increase business for our customer earlier this year. I just have to get better at selling 3D without losing my shirt!
I don't want to give it away so I am hoping that my proofs will be too hard to resist and they will justify the cost. For now, the digital prints on MDO or aluminum panels like DiBond will have to do. It's still fun either way.
Hey Jon, good luck on the candy store signs. Sounds like they will definitely be colorful.
