I have had casmate for 13 years. I like it and it does everything I need it to. I never upgraded. at all. now theres no tech support for it and that aint all. Its got one of those damn dongels on the back of it! did I spell it right. Did I even say it right?(they call it a security key. it fits on the back of your computer If it crashes I'm down with no solution except to buy new software and a new computer and start over again.)I cant reboot because theres no dongle then. I dont know enough to get myself out of this mess, and it could burn out at any moment. I try to ignore it when I'm cutting and just pretend its not there lol, but it is and I'm at its mercy. help me to get rid of it. Also I cant order a new one if this one goes out. casmate doesn't exist anymore and neither do the dongles (sp?) Its a damn security tool I dont need. thanks. Like I said I am not a computer genius, but I can run casmate with my eyes closed. I posted this before about the computer and a few people answered, but now I cant remember who they were. please educate me. thanks guys. I'm just a brush slinging country boy from way out in the country. My first shop was a deserted tobacco barn on my grandfathers farm. no heat in the winter, and no ac in the summer. what do I know about runnin' a computer? nothing really except how to run casmate, and I felt like that was a huge accomplisment. I even taught myself. sorry so lengthy, but I feel better already lol.

Buddy you didn't say which version of casmate you have,....if they no longer support that particular version you are completely within your rights to bypass the dongle issue,...there are several versions of casmate that have been "cracked" and you can download the "cracks"(software to remove the dongle protection) from several "crack sites",..be forewarned this is a good way to find one of those malicious sites that stick you with a trojan horse and or worm and or malware so have all your virus software up to date and malware protection running if so choose to go to such a site,..to find said crack,....then scan it very well before you open it,...good luck,...

edited to add,... just do a google search on casmate crack,...

Same problem here with SignLab. They say my version 4.95 is "unsupported" by them, although when I bought I remember the "sales pitch" of Lifetime Support".
I had a new herd drive installed and could not load, and SignLab said I would have to upgrade for hundreds of dollars. I only cut Vinyl occasionally so I did what Timi said (flying low). Ok for now, but will look at snother Program here soonn not sure what to get.
So I guess my Dongle is worth?????

click on the posts number (currently 90) on the lower left corner of all your posts. It will show your your last 50 posts, which now includes three new topics started on this issue. The oldest includes a link to where I bought my "crack" program. You won't get any virus from them guys, but it ain't free either... I don't use mine anymore, so I suppose I'd sell it to recover half my investment.. if I could find it... still think I should sell my whole program & dongle someday too... since I use Flexi now (hmm... I have a Signlab 6 with original discs, manuals & dongle that I paid $2K for... I really ought to try to get 50% back outta that too some day)
