I haven't sandblasted hdu for quite awhile, last time I think I pre-painted with one shot, blasted, primed painted background and removed stencil then cleaned up. I am using CoraFoam now, smoother dense HDU wanted to know if I should just apply stencil and blast then remove stencil and prime and paint with exterior acrylics. How are others doing it these days?

If you are using 15lb I apply a thin coat of plain old shellac. It dries in about 15 minutes and is an excellent base coat. Once in a while you may have some adhesive left behind. A light wish down with shellac thinner will leave a nice, clean surface.
Good luck.
