I am making a double sided post panel sign with Alupanel. My posts will be 4" x 4" pressure treated wood and I'm sliding a column post made by 5.5" square Royal Alumipost over the posts for decoration. Client wants a thick sign. Sign face will measure 60" wide x 30" tall. What should I use to beef up the thickness of the sign. My Alupanel is 3/16" thick times two because it's double sided and contoured cut. Not rectangle. I made a smaller version 2' x 2' by taking two 3/4" plywood sheets and glueing them together and glueing the alupanel on both sides. Then I prime and paint the exposed plywood. But I find water can seep into the top and can delaminate the alupanel slightly. Also, I thought of doing this with Crezon board because it's more stable than plywood and doesn't warp. How would you guys do this job? My main line has been vehicle graphics and striping tons of ambulances, and small industrial signage, for 12 yrs but would like to get into the post panel niche. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
