The manual is here the part with the error codes is vague with that error so it looks like gerber field tech is the only solution they show. wish I could help more but there just isn't any more documentation for that error.

I have used www.plotterdoctors.com in Phoenix, AZ. They have parts and service for the Gerber plotters and are very helpful.

I also have a HS 15 Plus. I've used the Plotter Doctor. Their estimate will be from $600 dollars up and there is shipping costs also.

Mine hasn't run since their last repair. Seems to me that was around $1000. They also lost my pounce wheel.

Good luck and let us know how you come out.

Thank you for the replys......as usual this place
is great. But isn't there someone out there that
is a 'local hero expert'. I remember awhile ago
people were fixing 4Bs and this just a 4B on
steriods. The solution is simple....loose wire? Peanut butter on the kill switch?

I've fixed a good half dozen 4b's and a couple hs and gs 15's if you read the manual and follow the procedure for the error signal beeps and the error you get is error number 3 then it is something internally within the electronics that a rubber band/bandaide ain't gonna fix. it may very well be a loose wire or burnt up power supply or controller any and or all of which you will have to get from gerber if they still sell and stock it and or someone who can repair components and stocks them like the plotter
doctor mentioned above.They are relatively
simple plotters and if you look inside there
may be a loose wire or connector plug,..it is not something you can do here in this text box reply form on this forum with just the info you have given us,. if you have more info and or any questions feel free to call me at 336-655-7101

I damn sure ain't no hero though,....

Tim, you're allready a hero.

I know how Bob feels with fixes like this. It's good to have someone with suggestions.
