I am preparing to install a digital print that is 20 inches high by 14.5 feet wide and I am concerned that the width is going to create problems for me. The print is going onto a flat wall about 8 feet above the floor, tight to the ceiling. I was going to tile the print but my customer has asked that I avoid seams if possible. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to share to help make this install go smoothly?

Nightmare!!! I tried one up on a ladder several years ago that was 10' long and I swore off of them. Never again!

Centre hinge is the right way to go, But "Tight to the ceiling" poses a problem, another pair of hands to hold the centre hinge in place would make life a lot easier.

Do you know that the ceiling is actually straight or level? (don't presume anything!)

on long ones like this we use 2 people and a side hinge...mark your decal with small pieces of tape all along the bottom as registration marks, then unroll the backing pulling as you go laying it back down against the tape registration marks..piece of cake...treat it as one big stripe..good luck

I think I would approach it like Chris, or, if I were to do a center hinge, I would carefully slice the backing material at the hinge so I could roll it back from the center, similar to what Chris mentioned.

Thanks for all the info. I was also thinking the centre hinge but with the ceiling so close difficult to tape down, also I didn't mention that the wall is more of a valance - the bottom of the print lines up with the bottom of the wall which, unforunately is not straight. Will definitely get another pair of hands and give it a go. Sure am glad that I priced this one well!Thanks again.
