I am assuming Dave will read these posts later when he gets home to his computer?
Dave, just saw these posts about your surgery, & I'll be praying for fast recovery for you! Rest & don't worry about things at work, they will all work out.
Funny, my mother just went to the emergency room last night & they found they have to reroute her bowel, because of stones. Surgery tomorrow. Bet you are both gonna have sore bellies!

It's awfully hard to post from a smart phone, especially since the phone is considerably brighter than this morphine addled brain. I appreciate the calls and well wishes. I hope Rick's doing well. He called me from his own hospital room. Too much of this goin' on!

You asked about an address for cards, etc. The hospital address is:
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano 6200 West Parker Road Plano, TX 75093-7914 972-981-8000 (main number) 972-981-7529 (direct line) Room 529A
I suspect I may be going home tomorrow or Wednesday. The address at home is:
1711 Francis Street Carrollton, TX 75006-7330
They took my morphine pump away this morning. Quality of life certainly drops without it. Today's been much harder than yesterday, although I was given real food (such as ice cream and cream of wheat is) for the first time since last week. I've been on what I call the EWW Diet Eskimo Weight Watchers Diet (nothing but ice) since last Thursday. The bright part of all this is I'm getting close to my high school weight 41 years and a day after I graduated.

David - a few days ago, I squished a mosquito on my computer monitor. I was going to clean it off, but have decided to leave it on as a visible symbol of my wish for your rapid recovery.
Let me know when you're feeling better, will ya? Not sure how long I can stare at this thing.
Seriously - Get well soon ok? Best wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery.

They're talking of letting me escape tomorrow. Perhaps maŹńana, you can reconstitute that thing with a little Rapid Remover and wipe it off.
Quality of life took a major hit yesterday when they repossessed my morphine pump. Quality of life then improved for everyone on this floor and out the windows today when I was allowed to don warmup slacks.
It's a good thing I had the surgery when I did. It had already perforated and I was on the cusp of a major health catastrophe.
I'm one sore but happy puppy here.

I managed to escape yesterday. I'm doing better each day although I feel like someone stabbed me in the stomach with a knife and then tried to gut me... Oh wait! That's exactly what happened.
I'm restricted to lifting 5 lb. or less for the next month and a half and not allowed to drive for a month, which probably has more to do with previously demonstrated ability than the surgery. The doctor told me not to lean over and pick up anything on the floor. He said, "If you drop it, let someone else pick it up." I've got a "grabby" thing to use to keep the rest of the family from becoming "crabby" things.
I can work at my computer a half hour or so at a time and return phone calls. It's probably a blessing that work is on the slow side right now.
Friends from the congregation have been providing meals and lots of practical help and visits. I'm more used to being the helper than the helpee but it is nice to be waited on and have people around who are there because they truly care and appreciate you. I am truly blessed!

Glad to hear you are on the mend David. Now's the time to get out that sketchbook you got when you were here and see if you can fill it with cool ideas...

While I was on morphine, I had plenty of cool ideas that would have made Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There look like a Sunday stroll in a conservative city park. Unfortunately, or maybe most fortunately, none of that ever hit paper.
Since I can't do much real work, I do have things I'm sketching but most of them have to do with my dream of how I want my shop and office to be.

Been thinking of you and also still sneeking into your website for inspiration. Someday I have got to design a sign using stone and deco glass blocks.
