Bought the Cricket font from Signfonts.com, unzipped it and then went to load it on my Mac OS 10.4.11. Got an error message.
I then went back to Signfonts.com and sent them basically this same info.
Anyone on a Mac come across the same error problem?
I noticed at the end of the font name there is: .ttf.ttf
That seemed odd to have it doubled up on the syntax. So I deleted one set and tried to load, but no luck there either.
THEN as I read Signfonts.com FAQ they mention that a user will get that kind of error message: "When installing Signfont ttf. on your Mac computer you may receive an error message, ignore it. This is due to a naming conflict and will not effect the performance of the fonts or your computer".
To be fair, I'm writing these message to the Bullboard and Signfonts.com just minutes apart. Hopefully I'll get a message back first thing tomorrow during regular business hours. However, I'm posting here for some info too.
Thanks again for any help!

Mick

While I do not envy your problem and hope you solve it, I have watched this post for all of two days and I haven't seen one pc person suggest you switch to a pc,..and to top that off I haven't seen anyone with a mac offer any suggestions to help,...funny how the tables turn when the shoe is on the other foot,...I really do hope you solve your problem though,....

Have you tried downloading it again from Signfonts- a fresh copy, in case your first one may have been jiggered in the wires?

I looked at the original post too...and had no ideas to offer...I just figured that since this is Memorial Day weekend that many folks were away from their computers.

I agree... been watching this thread and thinking it's strange....

If anyone asks about a solution for a PC problem, you'll have 25 unsolicited longwinded replies from Mac owners about how they have no problems and how PC person should get a Mac...

But.... a post about a problem on a Mac.... not a peep from any of them....

Interesting. [Rolling On The Floor] [Rolling On The Floor] [Rolling On The Floor]

Mr. Samsel, I'd gladly help, but have no clue.... maybe you'll get a response yet.

If your font has.ttf.ttf, click on it and rename it with only one.ttf.
Ive never had any problems with installing any of Signfonts typestyles on my imac.

What John said- just rename it with the correct extention- Macs are smart enough to allow you to rename stuff so if the file is not corrupt, they will work--- it sounds more like a .ZIP issue than whether or not it is a Mac or PC (sometimes when people use certain Zipping programs, they add weird extentions and rename files)

I guess most people didn't read the original post as a Mac/PC debate... thanks for the heads up...

Just seeing this now, I don't live on this site. Sorry. Mick, how did you install the font? If you haven't already, you might want to open the Zip file, then in a separate window open your Font Library folder. Drag / Drop the ttf in the font folder, then restart the program you're using the font in. This way usually installs fonts with no problems. Or just try the renaming way.Funny though, Macs can usually use "PC" fonts without issues!? Hope this helps.

Sorry so late. Problem solved within 2 hours as Steve from Signfonts.com sent me an unzipped file and it installed fine on both OS 9 & 10.
I had tried re-naming it to just one .ttf, but that did not work.
Steve had said he had not heard of that problem, but his unzipped file of the font was the answer, and his service was excellent.

And I love my new iMac 27"!
