How would you make a parade banner? With a pole pockets on the sides or along the horizontal top? What's your advice? Thanks. -------------------- Todd Gill Outside The Lines Potterville, MI

if within budget, pole pockets top and bottom. pole extending out of top pocket for carrying, pole in bottom not extending (to keep rigid and add a little weight) -------------------- Compulsive, Neurotic, Anti-social and Paranoid ... but basically Happy

What Mark said, I usually use metal conduit for the pole, it won't flop around like PVC. -------------------- Pat Whatley Montgomery, AL (334) 262-7446 office (334) 324-8465 cell

I have done heaps of these over the years for parades. Two basic rules: #1 they only are used for a short length of time. #2 Keep them lightweight as many are carried by kids. Basic pockets each end sewn shut at the top. You don't need seams or reinforcing top and bottom .. see #1 Same with banner material ... keep it light Poles? I have found broom handles or even better rake handles are the right size and easier to hold than metal.
